Child Arrangements
Guidance for making arrangements for children following separation and divorce.
After parents separate, the child has two homes. It can become confusing and they can feel as if they are caught in the middle. Mediation can help but many families find themselves in court proceedings as they cannot agree on arrangements.
This can be a confusing and frightening time for parents and children. If you go to court a Cafcass officer will provide an assessment and make recommendations to court in a report. Drawing on my experience of working in family courts and using my coaching skills, I offer support to families to find solutions without having to resort to court applications. I can mentor parents through proceedings advising on how to constructively present their view and manage the court process. I can also provide support and dispute resolution following court proceedings to maintain arrangements and help avoid returning to court.
I cannot provide legal advice but I can help demystify the process. Taking a restorative approach, my aim is to help parents agree safe and lasting arrangements for their children that are in their best interests. This will include conflict reduction, improving communication and agreeing parenting plans.
